Only 20 minutes from the coast and award-winning beaches by car (due to location a hire car is highly recommended). The Mar Menor offers all sorts of water sports so you’ll never be bored! Rue De La Casa is just an 8-minute drive from the airport too.

There are many shopping malls and developments in the area with many people driving hours and hours in order to take a day trip to go shopping in Murcia, such is the great variety of major retailers in one place and location.
If the Murcia weather is raining or overcast, this is a great day out if you are on holiday in Murcia. The reason so many people travel all the way to Murcia is the fact that these retailers and shops are unique, most notably the Primark and IKEA which you won’t find anywhere else for hundreds of kilometres.
Even if you cannot drive there are many organised bus and coach trips to take you from towns on the Costa Colida to Murcia and back so you can enjoy some retail therapy.

If you are looking for a lively buzzing atmosphere, then look no further than Los Alcazares! Located approximately 20 minutes from Rue De La Casa by car and with plenty of parking – this place has a wide range of restaurants providing all cuisines, bars and even a nightclub that is open until the early hours! There really is something for everyone here.

If sightseeing is your thing, then be sure to take a little drive out to the magnificent Roman Amphitheatre of Cartagena. The entry to this superb Roman Theater is via a museum. The engaging and attractive exhibits introduce the visitor to Roman times in southern Spain, then a short tunnel leads to the site itself, a huge (1000 seat), well-preserved Roman amphitheater. Just stunning!

The beautiful La Manga strip is less than a 30 minute drive from Rue de La Casa. La Manga is locally described as 'A paradise between two seas'. It is the narrow strip of land that separates the ‘two seas’ of the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean for about 20 kilometres.
La Manga is famous for its clean air and the beautiful Mar Menor whose very salty water is good for rheumatism and skin complaints.
Most of La Manga has been taken over by developments for holiday apartments, hotels and beachside bars & restaurants with stunning views of the Mediterranean sea. The area is located 30 kilometres north of Cartagena on the Costa Calida in south-east Spain.
The choice of beaches is almost endless, from the wild dunes to the south, to the gently sloping safe beaches of the Mar Menor. Being shallow, the Mar Menor is often a little warmer than the Mediterranean. but with both being less than a 100 metre distance apart, you can sample that for yourself within minutes! This is my absolute favourite beach in all of the murcia region!
